Come join us on Wednesdays from 10:30-11:45am at Old Town Yoga! This class is designed to help anyone who has a health condition or is interested in working on specific areas of their body and mind. This class will help students work with their current state of health and progress at their own pace to increase the effectiveness of each practice. Adaptations for each individual will be offered to help them achieve their specific goals in a small group setting and class themes will change periodically so that students can focus on a specific goal for a set period of time and help them progress towards overall wellness. Yoga for Sleep Wellness

Good sleep is paramount for optimal health and wellness and affects hormone levels, mood, weight, and overall function and quality of life. Yoga techniques have been found to help promote both better sleep and reduce stress to help improve quality of sleep. Harvard Medical School found that 55% of people who used yoga techniques improved their sleep and over 85% reduced their stress and new studies published in the National Institutes of Health database show a positive link between yoga and sleep improvement and neuroendocrine stress response.

In this two-hour workshop, you will receive:

1) Learn about what is considered quality sleep

2) Understand how sleep affects our physical, mental, and emotional well-being

3) Learn simple tools and techniques that will help improve your sleep and quality of life

4) A yoga practice that integrates the principles of this workshop that you can use at home

At the end of the year, days can seem more hectic, busy, and stressful. Please join us for an afternoon of healing, release, & wellness as Barbara Gibson, C-IAYT, MS and Lindsay Herrera Kaplan, LAc, LMP, Dipl.O.M. combine their expertise in yoga therapy & acupuncture to help you pause and reestablish balance in the body & mind. During this 90min session, Barbara will guide you through gentle movement with emphasis on breath to help soothe the nervous system & restore balance in the body. Next, Lindsay will incorporate acupuncture in specific points to help with detox, balance, calm, & release as you rest immersed in a short meditation to help clear and settle your mind adding ease to the holiday season. Perfect for those struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, or stress.

Classes will be kept small to ensure individualized attention. All levels and conditions welcome. Session activities will be adapted as necessary to accommodate specific conditions.

Early bird $60 if prepaid by Friday, Nov 30 or $65 after

Yoga Therapy Demo for Anxiety

 I am excited to be part of the Member Appreciation and Holiday Party, Saturday, Dec 1! Stop by to say hi and learn more about yoga therapy and meet my professional colleagues. I will be offering a short demo integrating movement and breathwork from 3:30 - 4pm.

Yoga for Chronic Back Pain Workshop

Back pain is a common problem in modern society and can be costly due to number of work hours lost and the decrease in overall quality of life and wellness. Yoga is now recognized as a reliable and highly effective treatment option for improving function and reducing symptoms due to back pain. In this two-hour workshop, learn about basic anatomy of the spine and back, understand mechanics of movement for improved function, and how to use simple yoga movement and breath that you can practice at home to help you strengthen, protect, and nourish your back while you reduce symptoms due to back pain. Tips for how to maintain back integrity off the mat will be offered as well.

Come join us for this workshop to help prepare you for my small group yoga therapy series for chronic low back pain coming up in November at Old Town Yoga!
