Come join us on Wednesdays from 10:30-11:45am at Old Town Yoga! This class is designed to help anyone who has a health condition or is interested in working on specific areas of their body and mind. This class will help students work with their current state of health and progress at their own pace to increase the effectiveness of each practice. Adaptations for each individual will be offered to help them achieve their specific goals in a small group setting and class themes will change periodically so that students can focus on a specific goal for a set period of time and help them progress towards overall wellness. Class themes such as yoga for chronic low back pain, upper back, neck and shoulders, knee pain and health, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, arthritis, sleep wellness, chronic stress/depression/anxiety, healthy aging, balance and strength, increased vitality, etc. will be facilitated by our certified yoga therapist, Barb Gibson, to help students receive focused attention while they work towards their goals in each class. Yoga for Chronic Back Pain Workshop

Back pain is a common problem in modern society and can be costly due to number of work hours lost and the decrease in overall quality of life and wellness. Yoga is now recognized as a reliable and highly effective treatment option for improving function and reducing symptoms due to back pain. In this two-hour workshop, learn about basic anatomy of the spine and back, understand mechanics of movement for improved function, and how to use simple yoga movement and breath that you can practice at home to help you strengthen, protect, and nourish your back while you reduce symptoms due to back pain. Tips for how to maintain back integrity off the mat will be offered as well.

Come join us for this workshop to help prepare you for my small group yoga therapy series for chronic low back pain coming up in November at Old Town Yoga!
